Appearance

JLPT N5 kanji ​

The JLPT publishes no official kanji syllabus. This 103-character set is a de-facto community standard derived from the former 4級 出題基準; it is a study target, not an official JLPT promise.

Kanji metadata (readings, meanings, stroke count, school grade, frequency) is backed by KANJIDIC2 via the jmdict-simplified JSON distribution; stroke counts and structural components come from KanjiVG (r20250816). Example words are drawn from the knowledge base's own N5 vocabulary study set, so the readings prioritised here are the ones N5 study actually exercises.
